Mark Garnier has welcomed news that crime has fallen by 8 per cent year-on-year, according to the independent Crime Survey for England and Wales, and by more than a quarter (30 per cent) since 2010.
Commenting, Mark Garnier said: ‘Today’s figures show that police reform is working and crime is falling. In the West Midlands crime recorded by the police has fallen 15%. This is good news for families across Wyre Forest – meaning their communities are safer and more secure than ever before. The recent fall in crime is an encouraging reflection of the increased levels of street policing that have been implemented recently in Wyre Forest.
‘However, with the changing nature of crime, it’s important that we continue to make Britain a safer place to live, work and do business – that is why we must continue to tackle the scourge of crime.’
