The 55+ and Retirement Roadshow is coming back to Kidderminster Town Hall on June 11th from 9-30am until 2-30pm. The Roadshow brings together a wide range of local advisors and experts on retirement finance, ageing and health to give free consultations to older residents. It is aimed at people over fifty five and carers of older people but as a drop-in it is open to everyone. Tesco will be giving out tea and biscuits.
The Roadshow seeks to highlight a range of services and answer any questions people have. The non-profit National Careline, who run the event, has brought specialists on tax advice for older people and solicitors to advise on the essential items like Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
They also have a pension specialist from the Government helpline The Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) and expect this stand to be very busy, especially following the changes to the pensions for women born in the 1950s because, due to the changes, so many women are not going to have the amount of pension they thought they would. Help is at hand as the specialist from TPAS will be able to give you the information to repair the damage.
This is a local event involving local businesses, those who earn their living in the town. One of the aims of the show is to emphasise the wealth of knowledge and goodwill available in Kidderminster. So keep money local and why go anywhere else?
Boots will be at the show representing other local pharmacies and supplementing the other health and wellbeing experts offering advice on keeping fit and well. Boots will have a pharmacist on the stand to help with any queries and the No 7 team will be coming along too offering help in choosing the correct makeup and care and protecting mature skin.
As time goes on people may need help to enable them to stay in their own home. With adaptions to their home and care coming in this should enable them to achieve this aim. The Care and Repair team and Ignite Health and Homecare Services are experts in these areas so come along and see them. This is just a taste of what there is to see so please come along to the show and see for yourself.
People are to able to arrange ten minute surgeries by calling The National Careline beforehand on 0800 0699 784 or send an email to [email protected]
Mark Garnier MP said of the event, “This is a fantastic event and I would encourage anyone who has questions or just wants to find out more to attend. Personalised financial advice is normally expensive, so this free roadshow will help many people get the most out of their pensions. I look forward to seeing residents there.”
