Mark Garnier MP has chosen entries from Wyre Forest for the Rock the House and Film the House competitions in Parliament
Rock the House was founded by Mike Weatherley MP and aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights. The completion will offer the opportunity for artists from Wyre Forests to have their work judged by industry experts and well as a chance to win prizes such as festival slots, studio time and equipment.
Mark judged this year’s entries with Scott Garrett from MAS records, Matt Worley of Worley’s Strings and Things and Sandra Baker from the Boars Head who won “Best Small Venue” last year.
Mark Garnier said “It was fantastic to hear all of the Wyre Forest entries for this year’s competition. We have a great deal of talent locally and it was a challenge to choose which acts to put forward. The competition provides a great opportunity to showcase our local talent and for the acts to gain exposure.”
The acts chosen this year are:
Under 19 Solo Artist: Ellisha with Pretty Girl
Under 19 band: Corrupted Network
Band: The DVM Band with Romance
