Mark Garnier MP has questioned the Government about the recent performance of Capita
A number of Wyre Forest residents have experienced problems with Capita due to the length of time that it takes them to process medical assessments.
Mark Garnier MP asked the Minister for State for Disabled People what recent assessment he had made of the performance of Capita on processing medical assessment reports for personal independence payments.
The Minister responded to the question by stating that the Government is monitoring Capita’s progress against a full set of service agreements setting out expectations for service delivery. The Government is taking action to drive up performance where Capita does not meet the required standards. The Minister said that in many cases it is taking longer than the Department would like for claimants to have their assessments with Capita and that they are working closely with their supplier to speed up the process for claimants.
Mark Garnier MP said “A number of my constituents have contacted me with regards to the length of time that it is taking Capita to process medical assessments. It is unacceptable that these assessments are taking so long to be processed. It is good to know that the Government is aware of this problem and are taking action to improve the performance of Capita.”
