Kidderminster’s Army Reserve Centre will be opening its doors to potential recruits for a glimpse of what life in uniform is like
HQ Company of the 4th Battalion the Mercian Regiment will host an open day at its Birmingham Road home on Saturday August 2 between 11am and 4pm, where the unit will have an assortment of weapons, equipment and vehicles on display.
4 Mercian is an Army Reserve infantry battalion whose members in recent years have seen operational service in Iraq, Afghanistan and Cyprus.
Sgt Alex Green of 4 Mercian said: "Everyone is welcome, be they members of the public or men and women who may be interested in joining us as recruits."
Mark Garnier said “I would encourage anyone interested in finding out more about the Army Reserves to go along. The reserves play an extremely important role and membership can be extremely rewarding. This open day will provide a fantastic opportunity for the public to gain an insight into what the reserves are all about.”
