Wyre Forest MP presses Wyre Forest schools to respond to “Consultation of Fairer Schools Funding in 2015”
As the campaign continues for Worcestershire schoolchildren to get fairer per pupil funding, Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier has written to all schools in Wyre Forest, pressing them to speak up with their views on school funding. The consultation will seek views on how the £350 million in 2015 to 2016 for the least fairly funded local authorities should be allocated.
The proposal to allocate this additional funding aims to make the distribution of funding fairer. The Department for education will be seeking views on how to set the minimum funding levels, how to distribute the additional £350 million of funding and whether changed of the sparsity factor would be helpful.
Mark Garnier said “This Government has been the first administration in the 18 years of the F40 campaign to acknowledge the unfairness in the school funding formula. It is extremely important to continue to push for a fairer system which is why I would urge all schools and interested bodies in Wyre Forest to respond to the consultation by the 30th April.”
