Wyre Forest MP is encouraging local schools and colleges to sign up and attend the world leading International Airshow
The designated day is offered at no cost for school and college groups that sign up to attend, and sees aerospace companies of all sizes and from all over the country open their doors to the next generation of budding engineers and scientists.
The 2014 Futures Day promises to be bigger and better than ever before, drawing thousands of young people to discover more about potential career opportunities and world-leading technology. Students will be able to take part in an exciting programme of hands-on activities, as well as meet experts, apprentices and graduates already working in the sector and see some of the world’s most cutting edge commercial and defence aircraft in flight.
Futures Day is the Industry’s largest outreach initiative to encourage young people to join and ensure that Britain’s aerospace industries can continue to produce world leading technology. There will be an Innovation Zone where experts will be passing on advice about careers, subject choices and guidance about all aspects of starting a successful career in the Industry. Seminars and presentations by these experts, and other enthusiasts should provide visitors with a real taste of what opportunities the aerospace industry offers. The day will also include interactive technology demonstrations; competitions and hands-on activities.
Mark Garnier said “Futures Day offers access to one of the world’s largest airshows to young people at no cost. I encourage Wyre Forest schools and colleges to sign up to attend the show and find out more about the huge range of opportunities on offer in this dynamic sector. It is a great opportunity for students to meet other like-minded young people, as well as talk to those that have already successfully entered the sector.”
