Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, responding to a letter from pupils, visited Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School on Friday morning. The visit was to hear and see for himself the problems facing pedestrians accessing the school as the public footpath in places extremely is muddy and verging on impassable.
After the meeting Mark said "I met with the Chair of Governors, Colin Emeny, to discuss the situation and I was pleased to hear that he is satisfied with the response of the County Council. The problem is specifically on a point across some farm land and I have been assured by Mr. Emeny that the County Council is responding well to the request of the school and parents. I have also spoken to the County Council Leader, Adrian Hardman, and he has assured me that the problem will be cleared and resolved during the Christmas holidays, so as to minimise disruption to parents and pupils. Inevitably with a brand new school or institution, not every wrinkle will have been ironed out before it opens its doors; that is the nature of new developments. However can I assure parents that everything is being done to relieve the issue.
Whilst this is very frustrating for those parents at Chaddesley Corbett this is one of a very few problems that have happened after a £70 million investment into schools across Wyre Forest."
