Last week’s planning approval by Malvern Hills District Council to build 62 homes within yards of Wyre Forest Boundary and clearly wishing to utilise the facilities and services of Stourport on Severn with no consideration or interest in the representatives from this district.
Mark has slammed this application in a public letter and today he voiced his concerns in Questions to the Minister from the Department for Communities and Local Government. Mark asked the Minister:
“Last week, Malvern Hills District council approved planning for 62 homes adjacent to my constituency of Wyre Forest, despite objections from me, Wyre Forest District Council, Stourport Town Council and Astley and Dunley Parish Council.
These homes have significant impact on resources for Stourport on Severn (in Wyre Forest), yet Section 106 payments and council tax goes to Malvern Hills.
Does the minster share the frustration of the residents of Stourport, and what steps is he taking to ensure that residents are listened to properly on the occasion of decisions with asymmetric cross boarder implications”
Mark was delighted that the Minister offered to meet with him to discuss Malvern Hill’s disregard for the views of the people of Stourport on Severn and the wider population of Wyre Forest.
