Mark Garnier MP welcomes improving year on year unemployment statistics in Wyre Forest.
Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics show that Wyre Forest unemployed claimants in Wyre Forest in January 2014 was 1,805; 475 lower than in January 2013 which represents a 21% drop in the unemployment year on year.
Mark Garnier said “We all welcome the overall national job figures announced today and the year on year reduction of 21% is extremely encouraging for Wyre Forest. The annual seasonal factors are still present as we have seen a small increase of 65 people claiming JSA from the December 2013 unemployment rate. To assist people who are seeking for work or training to improve their employment opportunities the next Jobs Fair I am putting on is on Friday, 14th March 2-5pm at the Kidderminster Town Hall.”
