On Sunday Mark and his family joined Parish Council Chairman Douglas Godwin and many other Rock residents to tidy up the district. Starting at Rock village hall, the local ‘Big Tidy Up’ concentrated on the rural lanes around the village where litter is thrown from car windows.
Mark said: “The good news is that there wasn’t much litter around on the day we went out. But that’s not to say that it isn’t very important to make the effort.”
Community groups across Wyre Forest regularly get together for local cleanups and Mark is very supportive of these actions. “When I can, I try to come along and help.
"I know there are a great many people who take huge pride in their areas and these organised cleanups not only prove to us all that people really care; it also helps educate people and children that it is important to make the effort.”
