Mark Garnier welcomes the £5.6million of Emergency Capital Funding for the Acute Hospitals Trust
Worcestershire MPs working together lobbying the Government, have secured further funding for the Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust.
The £5.6million is part of the £33.9 billion of committed funding for the Long Term Plan for the future of the NHS, over the next 5 years. This additional funding is to deal with high risk estates issues and improvements to critical clinical IT systems.
This funding allocation follows on from the £30million that the Trust received last year for works including the newly opened bridge and renovated Acornbury Suite to increase bed capacity and relieve pressure on A&E.
Mark Garnier commented on this announcement “We were delighted that earlier last month the Secretary of State for Health visited Worcester Royal Hospital to see the work that is being implemented to turn this Trust around and was so swiftly followed with this welcoming funding news.”
