Conservative Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, Dr Liam Fox MP, took time out of the Conservative Party Conference on Tuesday to visit Kidderminster. Dr Fox was accompanied by Wyre Forest's Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman Mark Garnier and the trip took in the rocket motor manufacturer Roxel, based in Summerfield.
Roxel has been based at Kidderminster for many years and is a significant employer of Kidderminster based workers, including Vice President for Strategy and Future Concepts, Peter diMuzio, who hosted the visit.
Roxel supplies rocket motors to the defence industry, and is a technology leader in terms of both the performance of its motors and the safety of its products under hostile conditions.
Commenting about the visit, Liam Fox said: "I am very grateful to Peter diMuzio for taking time out of his busy schedule to tell me all about Roxel. British based suppliers to our defence industry make an important contribution to our economy and technological lead and Roxel is one such company."
Mark Garnier added: "I am very pleased to have been able to bring Liam to Kidderminster and to see Roxel. There is a wide diversity of business activities in and around our district and it is important that they get the help from our politicians to thrive and grow. My job is to make sure that all our local businesses get to have their voices heard at the heart of what may be the next Government."
