Mark is "deeply concerned" that Wyre Forest communities could be faced with even more sites for gypsy and travellers despite already having, what he believes, is their fair share. His comments come as the District Council embarks on a consultation on potential sites for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople.
Mark, who has received an overwhelming amount of letters and emails in opposition to the possibility of more sites, said:
"While I understand the importance of providing accommodation for all types of residents, I am completely sympathetic with those communities who feel they are being dumped on by the council. Not only am I questioning the number of sites that are being sought; I am also deeply concerned that the Council is using an outdated strategy to establish how many sites Wyre Forest needs.
I will be making my feelings known in the consultation and I urge Wyre Forest residents to do the same."
