Mark Garnier, Member of Parliament for Wyre Forest is delighted with the news that £4.9million has been secured for the Hoo Brook Link Road by the Department of Transport.
Speaking on the announcement, Mark Garnier said: "This is fantastic news for our local infrastructure. The Hoo Brook Link Road is a key part of the South Kidderminster Business Park, opening up the former sugar beet site and helping turn the area into a key employment zone."
"The benefit will not only be seen by businesses either already based in south Kidderminster or seeking to locate there; local residents will also see benefits as congestion will be relieved around the Brinton Park bottleneck in Kidderminster. Stourport will also see improvements as traffic will be able to find alternative routes out of the area, bypassing the Gilgal bottleneck."
Mark Garnier, as Wyre Forest's MP, has been supporting the County Council and Wyre Forest District Council's bid for the cash through lobbying in Parliament, helping to create a strong argument in favour of local funding.
