Crews are still on site at Lawrence Recycling and Waste Management on the Stourport Road in Kidderminster where a fire broke out on Sunday 16 June. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service managed to bring the fire under control during the night on Sunday 16 June, but it is likely to take some time to extinguish completely.
The Fire Service has been at the site 24 hours a day since the fire started. The fire is within large piles of baled up commercial and household waste including paper, cardboard and plastic. The buildings are structurally unsafe and therefore access is very limited.
To inform residents and businesses about the fire, the following questions have been answered by the following agencies - Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, Environment Agency, Public Health England, Severn Trent Water, and Worcester Regulatory Services (WRS) on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council.
