Mark Garnier MP is calling on local residents to take advantage of the 55+ and Retirement Roadshow at Kidderminster Town Hall on 7th September.
The event, which runs from 9.30-3.30, will be attended by a variety of exhibitors who aim to provide varied information and advice about a range of issues that affect the 55+ age group.
Confirmed exhibitors include the Care Quality Commission, the Princes Initiative for Mature Enterprise, Enterprising Worcestershire, the National Careline Solicitor and Tax Help for Older People. Information about care provision and health and well being will be available as well as legal, business and tax advice.
Free health checks including blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose tests will be available from Mytime Health, a social enterprise based in the West Midlands. They will also be providing free advice and support about healthy lifestyle.
There will be various activities at the Roadshow including a fashion show with clothes provided by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill and modelled by ladies from the Tulip Tree Centre. Auction house, Fellows Ltd, will also be attending and will be offering free valuations on any items.
Mark Garnier said "This will be a brilliant opportunity for residents to get valuable advice from professionals in a wide range of fields. The Roadshow will provide information on issues such as early retirement, finance and business start-up as well as care and health. It is excellent that there will be such a wide variety of exhibitors, and I would strongly encourage anyone who is seeking support on any matter relating to retirement or care to go along."
