Mark Garnier MP has welcomed the New Homes Bonus grant allocations figures.
The New Homes Bonus grant is paid to local authorities for increasing the number of homes available. Since 2011 the New Homes Bonus has paid £2.2 million recognising that 550,000 homes have been delivered and 93,000 empty properties have been put back to use. Local Authorities can decide how to spend the New Homes Bonus.
In Wyre Forest 341 homes were delivered and 135 empty homes were put back into use from October 2012- October 2013. This compares to 63 homes being put back into use in 2011/12 and 104 in 2010/11. Wyre Forest has been awarded a total final payment of £1,254,617 of the New Homes Bonus for 2014/15.
Mark Garnier MP said “It is great news that the New Homes Bonus allocation for Worcestershire will total £1,919,014 including an affordable homes bonus of £40,460. It really highlights that our local authority is working hard to promote growth and to create communities and is an excellent economic incentive to continue to do so.”
