Mark Garnier MP is pleased with latest figures which show another fall in unemployment in Wyre Forest.
Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics show that the number of unemployed claimants in Wyre Forest in October was 1,036 which represents 2.2% of the economically active population.
This compares to a claimant count of 3.7% in the West Midlands region and 2.9 % nationally.
The number of claimants is 887 lower than in October 2013 and 71 lower than in September 2014. The claimant rate was 4.8% when Mark was elected in 2010. Since then Wyre Forest has witnessed a substantial fall in unemployment and the claimant count has over halved.
Mark Garnier said "It's very promising to once again see a fall in unemployment in Wyre Forest. We have better figures than the West Midlands and nationally but there is more work to be done. I will be holding another Jobs Fair at Kidderminster Town Hall on 12th February 2015"
