Wyre Forest MP welcomes new investment and continued commitment to local sport.
Following the announcement from Sports England of £2 million of National Lottery investment in a new, state-of-the-art leisure facility at Silverwoods, on the Kidderminster-Stourport Road, Mark Garnier has enthusiastically welcomed the investment in Wyre Forest. The brand new leisure centre will have a sports hall, six lane swimming pool, fitness suite, dance studios, climbing wall and small outdoor football pitches.
MP Mark Garnier, said: "Wyre Forest has benefitted a great deal from Sport England since the 2012 Olympics, continuing the legacy of the games. There have been numerous grants of varying sizes such as funds for emergency flood relief to Bewdley Cricket Club, and almost £50,000 to Chaddesley Corbett Sports Club. The new leisure centre presents incredible opportunity for everyone from aspiring sportsmen and women, to people making new goals about their health and well-being. Importantly, it provides much needed fitness and sports facilities at an affordable rate for local taxpayers. This is an announcement that really does make a huge difference - state of the art facilities at an affordable cost to local residents. Wyre Forest District Council have done a terrific job."
