On Tuesday 22nd September 2015, Mark attended an Age UK Wyre Forest lunch club at the Tulip Tree Centre in Kidderminster for people aged 50+.
Mark enjoyed a two course lunch and was able to chat with older people and to hear what their concerns were in the area.
The lunch club operates on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Fridays and serves over 120 meals per week. All the products are purchased locally, mostly from local suppliers and the meals provided are cooked on the premises. The lunch club also provides social activities and events during the year.
Mark said “It was a great pleasure to join members of our local community for lunch at the Tulip Tree Centre, Kidderminster. It is important to remember that regular events like this are for some people there only opportunity of getting out and socialising which is vitally important. Age UK provide a range of services and help for our growing elderly population and is a charity which I am delighted to support both locally and nationally as an Age UK Champion.”
