General Election – just two weeks to go

With two weeks left of the campaign, Mark and his team have been canvassing in Mitton in Stourport. Yet again, the Conservative message is well received on the doorstep with local residents accepting the need for us to focus on the issues that face Wyre Forest in the future, not in the past.

With all the activity going on in the campaign, it is sometimes fun to step back a little and take a different angle on the local action. The Conservative campaign in Wyre Forest featured on the letters pages of the Daily Telegraph on Thursday. A resident in Kidderminster's Greenhill had clearly taken the trouble to read our local election literature and felt motivated to share it with Telegraph readers.

More help for the Wyre Forest Campaign

Peter Luff, Mid Worcestershire's MP, has visited Wyre Forest to help canvas local residents. Mark and his team canvassed parts of Kidderminster and Stourport and found that there mood for change is definitely intact. Indeed, local residents recognise that change won't happen without change in Wyre Forest, and that it is time to start focusing on the issues that are affecting Wyre Forest right now.

Campaigning continues in Wyre Forest and Philip Dunne, standing for re-election in Ludlow, came to Wyre Forest to help the local team here. Philip brought with him a gang of four and residents of Cookley will be coming home tonight to find the Conservative message on their doorsteps.

Mark Garnier visits Bewdley and Chaddesley

The beginning of the second full week of the campaign saw no let up in Mark Garnier's work. Mark spent the morning meeting with local traders in Bewdley, catching up on those missed from his earlier walk about in Bewdley's town centre.

The second weekend of the campaign got off to an excellent start with glorious sunshine. Local Conservatives set up a street stall in Bewdley to welcome shoppers and to spread the message for change in Wyre Forest - and it was well received!

Mark Garnier visits Comberton Hill traders

This afternoon, Mark Garnier visited the traders in Kidderminster's Comberton Hill to see how business was getting along and to listen to concerns about the proposed road changes. The shops along 'The Hill' rely on quick stop-off trade and the proposed road changes with regard to the relocation of traffic lights will remove some of the stop off parking bays.

William Hague Visits Kidderminster

William Hague MP visited Kidderminster today to help with the local campaign. William, who will be Foreign Secretary should Conservatives win the general election, came to Wyre Forest to support Mark Garnier's local campaign. With the market full of shoppers, despite the cold weather, William and Mark were well received.

Second Week: The Campaign Continues

With the campaign in full swing, the first day of the second week was no less hectic! Mark started the day by addressing a meeting of the CWC at Kidderminster Golf Club, where 80 local ladies listened to reports of progress on the campaign. This was followed by a visit to the Nightingales care home in Wolverley and then the day was rounded off with door knocking in Offmore and Comberton.
