Nearly a decade after the Labour Government closed the A+E department at Kidderminster Hospital, Wyre Forest is to get a doctor led urgent care service (UCS). The new UCS is a pilot scheme to build on the existing minor injuries unit which currently provides an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. The new arrangements will supplement this with two staff grade doctors who will work within the minor injuries unit.
