Mark Garnier MP takes on Parliamentary Trainee

Mark Garnier MP is taking on an a trainee as part of the new traineeship scheme launched by Matthew Hancock MP and the Parliamentary Academy The Scheme, which is aimed at broadening access to parliament, was launched in National Apprenticeship week. The traineeship enrols school-leavers on an intensive twelve week training programme, combining short work experience placements in MPs’ offices,  accredited learning provided by Westminster Kingsway College and specialist masterclasses delivered by the think tank Demos.

Last Friday I held my fourth Jobs Fair – an event where around 36 employers, recruitment agencies and training organisations gathered together in Kidderminster Town Hall. 

Mark Garnier MP welcomes flood relief for Wyre Forest businesses

Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier has welcomed the allocation of £137,500 in the second tranche of funding from the Business Support Scheme 
The Government allocated the second tranche of funding last week from the £10 million Business Support Scheme to help businesses who have been directly or indirectly affected by the flooding.
 

Mark Garnier MP holds 4th Wyre Forest Jobs Fair

Last week Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier hosted the 4th Wyre Forest Jobs Fair for local job seekers at Kidderminster Town Hall.  
There were 36 exhibitors at the fair offering a good mix of graduate opportunities, apprenticeships and general recruitment.

This week marks the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web. It really is hard to think of an invention (a British one, at that!) that has had such a profound effect on all our lives. It is also incredible to think that it has come so far in such a short period of time. The transition from the wheel to the internal combustion engines was thousands of years. The transition from clunking slow dial up servers to super fast 4G mobile telephones has been just the blink of an eye by comparison.

Extra funding step in the right direction says Wyre Forest MP This money is part of a proposed £350 million boost to the most underfunded local authorities. This is a huge step towards removing the unfairness in the school funding system. 

Local Sixth Formers Shadow Mark Garnier MP for International Women’s Day

Mark Garnier MP invited six sixth formers from schools in Wyre Forest to Parliament in celebration of International Women’s Day MPs were invited to ask young women from their constituencies to put themselves forward to shadow their MP. Molly Bradbury from Stourport High School, Emilia Sinden from Baxter College, Adrienne Rogers from Bewdley High School, Rebecca Howman from Holy Trinity, Kathryn Smithson from King Charles and Jessica Bryant from Wolverley High School all put themselves forward.
