Mark Garnier supports inquiry into the Financial Education of Young People

Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, is pleased to support the launch of an inquiry by the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Financial Education of Young People. The UK wide enquiry, launched last week and entitled Financial Education and the Curriculum, will investigate the level of financial education in primary and secondary schools.

Wyre Forest Community Unit welcomed local MP Mark Garnier, in Kidderminster today. On his visit, to the hospital which serves the MP's constituents, he was welcomed by Hospital Matron, Deborah Narburgh, Associate Director of Community Hospitals, Lisa Levy and Director of Delivery, Simon Hairsnape.

MP for Wyre Forest says ‘no’ to the Hartlebury Incinerator

Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, reaffirms his opposition to the decision to grant planning permission for an incinerator at Hartlebury. The decision, made by the Worcestershire County Council on 1st March, paves the way for a 200,000-tonne energy from waste facility to be built near Hartlebury.

Wyre Forest MP Leads Westminster Campaign to Save Kidderminster Harriers

Mark Garnier MP, Wyre Forest's MP, has stepped in at Westminster to help the Kidderminster Harriers. Mark, who has been visiting the Harrier's management for a number of years and has brought Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport, has rallied the support of MPs with a local interest in the team. MP for Northampton South, Brian Binley MP, is a former Wyre Forest resident and former signed up player for the Harriers in the 1960s.

Wyre Forest MP speaks for fairer education funding in Worcestershire

Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, took part in a Westminster Hall debate this week to discuss fairer funding for Education for Worcestershire. The debate, secured by Karen Lumley, MP for Redditch, spoke about the continued underfunding of the county's education. Worcestershire MPs have been calling for a change to the formula to increase per pupil funding for the county.
